The Founder
The person building Olav.

I am a systems engineer. I have been building production systems since I was twelve, from the databases and infrastructure up to the interfaces people actually use.
My approach has always been guided by one idea: a system is only valuable if its users can trust what it tells them.
Olav grew out of watching hardware teams lose weeks to a problem nobody wants to own. A build stalls because one purchased part cannot be sourced in time, and finding that out means chasing portals and inboxes by hand. The information exists. It is just scattered, stale, and never in one place when the decision has to be made.
So Olav does that work. It reads the bill of materials, checks the parts that put the build at risk against live sources, and works the market until there is a real, dated answer. Every claim carries where it came from and how sure we are of it.
The thread through everything I build is trust you can inspect: multi-source verification, actions that wait for approval, and a record the operator can read. Hardware procurement is exactly that kind of problem, technically hard, genuinely solvable, and painful enough to be worth solving well.
The Bottleneck Moved to Earth
Getting a product built is rarely blocked by the design. It is blocked by a single purchased part that cannot be sourced in time. The hard problem in hardware is no longer engineering the thing. It is proving you can actually buy what it is made of.
Catalogue Data Is Not the Truth
A distributor listing tells you what a feed claimed, updated some time yesterday. It does not tell you whether the stock is really there for your quantity, whether the supplier will commit to your date, or whether the part is quietly going end-of-life. Olav treats availability as a claim to be verified, not a fact to be trusted.
Execution, Not Search
Plenty of tools help you find a part. Almost none do the work that comes after: confirming the quantity, chasing the quote, reading the messy reply, and turning it into a decision. That work is where builds are won or lost, and it is the work Olav takes off your plate.
